Dubbed “The Young
Bulls of La Onda” for their powerful and
energetic performances, Los Amables have
been making a name for themselves by being one
of the most personable, yet awesomely exciting
conjunto groups ever to come out of San Antonio,
TX. This group is lead by two brothers, Jason
Torres (lead vocals and bajo sexto) and John G.
Torres Jr. (backing vocals and accordion), and
is complemented by Robert Montoya (drums), and
Henry Macias (bass). With a combined 30 years of
experience between them, Los Amables have
the looks and personalities of a young group,
but have the talent to match some of the best
groups in the industry.
Los Amables released
their self-titled first album in November 2003
on their own independent label and have been
touring non-stop ever since.
With performances in Wisconsin, Illinois,
Michigan, Colorado, and Kansas, as well as their
Texas tour including Dallas, Houston, San
Antonio, Lubbock, and Austin, it’s no wonder
that these “Young Bulls” are the new buzz of
the Tejano/Conjunto music scene.
Los Amables
have recently signed a 3-year recording contract
with San Antonio based Tejas Records. They are
joining the ranks of some of the most well-known
and respected bands in the industry such as, Los
Hometown Boys, Los Desperadoz, Ram Herrera,
Latin Breed, Campanas de America and Elida
Reyna. With a record label this strong and the
talent and drive they have, it is only a matter
of time until Los Amables take their
place at the top of the Tejano/Conjunto scene.
